Description
Rock Creek Fuels Project 2017 IN APPROXIMATELY 1 DAY, THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS COMMERCIAL SERVICE PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AND PRINT. SCOPE OF WORK The purpose of this contract is to hand thin and hand pile in the treatment units described in this contract to remove suppressed, diseased, damaged, and poorly formed trees in order to restore forest health and resistance/resilience to wildfire. Piling of cut and downed material while leaving larger coarse woody debris will reduce fuel loading while maintaining Forest Plan Standards. Snags (dead/dying trees) that may pose a threat to firefighters or the public (those near fuel breaks, roads, recreation sites) will be removed while retaining those that likely will not pose risk for wildlife habitat. Aspen, ponderosa pine, and Douglas-fir will not be cut (where they exist) to encourage both biodiversity and fire-adapted species. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. LOCATION The project is located approximately 27 miles south of Hansen, Idaho on the Cassia Division of the Minidoka District of the Sawtooth National Forest. The area can be accessed by turning south on to Rock Creek Road (N 3800 E) from Highway 30 in Hansen (follow signs towards Rock Creek Guard Station). The proposed treatment area includes portions of the following: T14S, R19E, Sections 18, 19, 30, 31, 32 T14S R18E Section 13, 25, 26. Refer to Maps provided in Exhibit 1. CONTACT STEVE CLEZIE FOR MORE INFORMATION (208) 737-3256. CONTRACT TIME WILL BE from July 15, 2017 for 140 calendar days. NAICS Code: 115310 Size Standard: $19.5. This proposed procurement is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS set-aside.
