Brand Name or Equal Liposuction Machine for the Minneapolis VA Health Care System NAICS Code: 339112 Notice Type: Sources Sought This is a Request for Information (RFI) only; it is not a request for quotations or offers. 52.215-3 -- Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997) (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although proposal and offeror are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of: conducting market research to identify potential sources for a potential procurement of Brand Name or Equal Medtronic Covidien PillCam Recorder and accessories for use at the Minneapolis VA Health Care Center. All items must be compatible with the Medtronic Covidien hardware, software and licenses currently in use. See Attached DRAFT Statement of Work This is a request for information and sources only, which may or may not lead to a future solicitation. This is not a request for proposal (RFP). The VA will not pay for any information received resulting from this sources sought notice. Information should be forwarded to the Contract Specialist. Any questions should be addressed to the Contract Specialist, in writing, at the email address provided. Because this is a request for information only, answers to questions will not be posted. If your organization has the capability to provide these items and is interested in this opportunity, please respond to Jody M. Product literature on items that are offered to meet the requirements of the DRAFT specifications (see attachment). Socioeconomic status. The deadline for this information is 4:00 PM Central Time on Thursday, April 27, 2017. GREY MARKET ITEMS:   The Vendor shall be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller for the proposed equipment/system such that the OEM warranty and service are provided and maintained by the OEM. The vendor shall provide new items ONLY; no remanufactured or "grey market" items. All items must be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.   The offeror shall provide evidence of its authority to distribute the proposed equipment/system at the time of submission of its quote/offer.   Please note that such evidence is subject to verification by the Contracting Officer at his/her discretion. Pill Cam Recorder Procurement 618-17-2-040-0133 Project Title Pill Cam Recorder Procurement Background Gastroenterology at the Minneapolis VAHCS provides a number of services in the healthcare system. Gastroenterology utilizes a variety of complex equipment and systems to complete its cases. One such solution involves swallowable equipment to complete small intestine studies. Scope The Minneapolis VAHCS is procuring two (2) PillCam DR3 recorders to be utilized by Gastroenterology. All offers must be compatible and able to fully integrate with the current Medtronic Covidien software, hardware and licenses currently in use. Equipment Requirements The following recorders for Gastroenterology to be added to Minneapolis VAHCS shall have the following part numbers: Item Part Description Qty 1 FGS-0347 PillCam recorder DR3 2 2 FGS-0583 PillCam recorder DR3 cradle kit 2 3 FGS-0568 PillCam sensor belt 2T DR3 SB3 2 4 FGS-0569 PillCam Sensory Array 2T, DR3 8-lead (SB) 1 5 FGS-0453 PillCam sensor sleeves 10-pack 1 The recorders shall have the following requirements: Clinical Requirements Adaptive frame rate technology, capable of switching from 2 6 frame rate depending on the speed of the capsule Fully compatible with PillCam SB software and system Capable of displaying/recording the PillCam SB procedure Fully compatible with the PillCam capsule, both the 8 hour and 12 hour models Must be capable of supporting new studies (COLON, UGI, SBC) Ability to provide instructions to the patient after ingestion Ability to notify the patient that the current study is complete Assist in determining suspected small bowel bleeds, iron deficiency anemia, and Crohn s Disease surveillance General Requirements Rechargeable lithium ion battery Cradle that charges the battery LED technology Real-time viewer from capsule during study Intuitive navigation buttons Button confirmation feedback Training Contractor shall provide go-live installation training Warranty Contract shall provide a minimum one (1) year warranty Contractor shall provide the equipment to the Minneapolis VAHCS, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. Contractor shall coordinate installation during normal business hours, with the approval of the COR. Contractor shall dispose of all waste. Contractor shall confirm full functionality of the with Minneapolis VAHCS staff before stating work is complete.
