Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst intends to enter into sole source negotiations for a Pistol Grip Power Feed Drill for the V-22 VMM 362 & V-22 VMM 122 Tool Control Program, part number ATCC-DF24003/8-60-1.5-AF, in support of the V-22 Program. Brand name only tools of Andrews Tool Company, is the only vendor that can provide the tools to meet the Governments requirement. The required tools have been previously purchased by the V-22 program at the squadron level. This effort is a continuation of the tools already in place at the squadron level. In order to ensure that all servicemen are trained on servicing the V-22 aircraft/equipment and can perform their designated tasked quickly, efficiently and no matter their location, V-22 tools are the same from one squadron to the next. NAVAIR intends to procure under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, therefore, a solicitation is not available for this procurement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
