- Lifecycle Sustainment Strategies for Acquisitions of Items Developed Exclusively at Private Expense *****SPECIAL NOTICE***** Army Materiel Command (AMC) is on the front lines of innovation by developing, integrating, and sustaining unique science, technology, and engineering solutions in support of the warfighter. AMC's acquisition and sustainment professionals must ensure appropriate technical data and license rights to Intellectual Property (IP) is available to ensure the most efficient and effective sustainment strategy. The AMC, in concert with the Army Contracting Command, submits this Special Notice to industry for distribution of the attached document entitled, "Lifecycle Sustainment Strategies for Items Developed Exclusively at Private Expense." The AMC and ACC developed this guidance as a means to assist all Life Cycle Management Commands (LCMCs), Engineering Centers, and AMC Contracting Activities to achieve better sustainment outcomes for the Army. This document is intended to be guidance only, and not construed for use as Policy or Regulatory requirements. No industry comments are solicited or required as a result of this Notice.
