Description

COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for Stryker Zoom Stretcher at Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas (I) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized in FAR Part 13. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (II) This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). Submit written quotes on RFQ Number: VA256-17-Q-0184. (III) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-87. (IV) This solicitation is being issued as a Total Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside. The associated NAICS code is 423450. The small business size standard is 200 Employees. (V) This combined solicitation/synopsis is for purchase of the following commercial services: Contractor shall furnish a Stryker Prime Zoom Motorized Drive Stretcher for the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center main campus located at 2002 Holcombe Blvd, Building 100. Houston, Texas 77030. (VI) Description of requirements is as follows: Contractor shall furnish Stryker Prime Zoom Motorized Drive Stretcher to minimize the number of transfers for the veteran and to also limit the exposure to potential on the job injuries, the Zoom stretcher is a must. The Zoom stretcher is highly mobile, increases safety and efficient. The extraordinarily mobile and user-friendly Zoom stretchers are designed to greatly reduce the physical strain on the healthcare team and axillary staff (i.e. Escort) while enhancing patient care and comfort. It will make transporting heavy patients easier. The electric functionality allows patients to adjust their own position without calling a caregiver for assistance which can decrease the risk of patient falls. Many of the patient come to the SCI clinic via ambulance. These patients need to be weighed and transported throughout the hospital for test and procedure. Currently the patient comes in by ambulance, is transferred to the bed to be weighed and then transferred from the bed back to the SCI clinic stretcher. This is a lot of back and forth for our patients, especially those with chronic pain and spasticity. The patient is then transported to other destinations throughout the hospital with the manual stretcher. With the Zoom stretcher, the patient will be transferred from the ambulance stretcher straight to the Zoom stretcher for procedures and exam. On this stretcher there patient can be weighed and transported throughout the hospital with the ease of the electric motor and lessen stress on the body muscles and joints. The Escort department will enjoy the ease of guiding the stretcher and patient to its destination for the Michael E. DeBakey Veteran Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC).
