- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Seattle ERIC (Epidemiologic Research Information Center) at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with DNA Genotek for the procurement of Orasure made saliva sample collection kits. In order to maintain continuity of this project, these particular kits are being requested to continue with existing protocol(s) already established. Requestor requires the acquisition of saliva sample collection kits in order to conduct genomic research using DNA extracted from saliva samples collected from human research subjects. Subjects will be mailed a collection kit by the VA, and the subject will collect the sample on their own. Collected samples will then be mailed back to the VA for analysis. Additional requirements: Samples must be stable at room temperature for at least 60 days Samples must be easy to mail in a manner that abides by IATA requirements DNA extraction process must be familiar/amenable to VA Labs Resulting DNA material must be of high quality and stable for at least 60 days ITEM DESCRIPTION QUANTITY OGR-500.005 Saliva sample collection kit/OGR-500.005 3400 MO-5 IATA Mailing solution: Liquid Tight Bio-Specimen Bags/MO-5 3400 Barcode Datafile Barcode Datafile/ Summary Sheets 4 NAICS code 334516 (size standard of 1000 employees). Performance Period: Base of one year, plus two option periods. Type of Contract: Firm Fixed Price (Requirements) Estimated Delivery Dates: 850 September 2017 850 December 2017 850 March 2018 850 June 2018 This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Tuesday, January 17, 2017 12:00 Noon EST. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
