Statement of Work Pyxis Carefusion Contractor: Item: Pyxis MedStation ES System Background: This equipment will be used at TXVCBVAHCS Pharmacy Service and Outpatient Clinics for optimum dispensing and accuracy. Pyxis ® MedStation ES is designed to improve patient safety, workflow efficiency and standardize practice. Description of Service: Pyxis ® MedStation ES System automation will provide medication management through all areas of the facility to support, workflow efficiency, medication security, and regulatory compliance. It offers the highest security and capacity configuration options for storing all medications and allows system access for system management, reports, data analytics, and medication queuing/wasting from any computer VistA workstation. Justification of Need: Service maintenance is required by the contractor. Pyxis shall provide remote diagnostic testing and support through Technical Support Center 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Data will be stored encrypted at Pyxis main service and access is controlled through standard security controls. Alerts will be emailed to respective pharmacy and COR detailing service needed, parts delivery if needed, and anticipated technician service calls. Service calls are usually made within 48 hours. A service call log will be kept on file at servicing pharmacy and copy sent to COR. Period of Performance: Base year period of performance: 2/1/16-9/30/17 Option Year 1 Period of Performance: 10/1/17 - 9/30/18 Option Year 2 Period of Performance: 10/1/18 - 9/30/19 Option Year 3 Period of Performance: 10/1/19 - 9/30/20 Information Systems Officer, Information Protection: The contractor will not have access to VA Desktop computers nor will they have access to online resources belonging to the government while conducting services. Privacy Officer: The contractor will have access to Patient Health Information (PHI) or they will have the capability of accessing patient information during the services provided to the VA. Records Manager: There will not be federal records created, maintained, used or disposed of with this contract; regardless of format [paper, electronic, etc.] or mode of transmission [e-mail, fax, etc.].
