The legacy Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) provides the unit commanding officer of ships, submarines, aviation squadrons, and intermediate maintenance (afloat and ashore) activities the ability to manage: ship/aircraft maintenance, parts inventory, finances, tech manuals and drawings, and personnel information. In order for NTCSS to meet future Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) requirements, NTCSS must transition from a client-server architecture to a modern and sustainable solution set in Naval Operational Supply System (NOSS).
