Mathis / 411 SCMS/GULA TO: DLA Aviation Procurement Operations at Warner Robins (SPRWA1) LOCATION: Robins AFB, GA 31098-1813 FBO Post Title: Intent to sole-source purchase of Ejector Assembly NSN 1560-01-213-2165, part number 212-061-201-11. SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Ejector Assembly NSN 1560-01-213-2165, part number 212-061-201-11. ITEM DESCRIPTION The Ejector Assembly NSN 1560-01-213-2165, part number 212-061-201-11used on the UH-1N helicopter. This aircraft is a utility helicopter that is used by the Air Force for missile site surveillance, nuclear convoy protection and search and rescue missions. All the parts of a UH-1N, except the fuselage, can be replaced making the end of life of the UH-1N indefinite. The ejectors are part of the air management system provides inlet air to each engine power section and carried away exhaust gases. Ejectors relates to improvements in exhaust ejectors for turbojet engines and more particularly to an ejector for cooling the exhaust and suppressing the visibility of infra-red radiation from the engine exhaust. Impediment to Competition: The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Bell Helicopter Inc. (CAGE 97499), which maintains its configuration by part number and software version. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Bell Helicopter Inc. is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the Ejector Assembly performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Bell Helicopter Inc. for the manufacture of the Ejector Assembly in support of the UH-1N helicopter program. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 4 Jan 2017 to rodney.mathis@us.af.mil or dla.dlr.proc@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
