Description
PWS Sources Sought Synopsis/Capability Survey Sources Sought Synopsis This effort seeks to sustain equipment integrity and maintain mission capability as related to aging MHU-141. The MHU-141 is designed for temporary storage and transportation of a variety of munitions and other stores. The center section of the deck is hinged and can be lifted open to provide a hatchway across the full width of the trailer. One large toolbox at the rear of the trailer is provided for storage of accessories. The MHU-141 Trailer is an adaptation of the Navy Aero 51 Munitions Handling Trailer for Air Force requirements. The MHU-141 is a four-wheeled, pneumatic-tired vehicle with automotive type steering, leaf spring suspension, and hydraulic brakes actuated by an inertia system on the tow bar. The trailer has a width of 84-inches (wheel base 89-inches), a maximum deck length of 126-inches (not including the tow bar), and a height of approximately 32-inches at the top of the deck. It weighs 2,370-2,900 pounds empty and is rated for towing loads up to 5,500 pounds. The Contractor shall, in response to Government issued task orders, furnish appropriate personnel, equipment, materials, and lab facilities necessary to perform any or all of the following: conceptual design(s) and review; feasibility and interface design studies; preliminary and detailed engineering design and services; stress analysis; fabrication/prototype support; development, advancement and implementation of emerging technologies; instrumentation and calibration; testing; inspection; field and depot assembly/disassembly and repair/overhaul support; installation and check-out; and packaging and transportation/shipment of hardware. Major system NSNs affected by this effort are: •o NSN 1740-01-031-5868 •o NSN 1740-00-342-1740 This effort shall support any subsystem and subassembly supporting the major system NSNs.
