Description
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE - THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE ORDER TO MICROSOFT CORPORATION TO PROVIDE WINDOWS SERVER 2003 SP2 MICROSOFT PREMIER CUSTOM (EXTENDED SUPPORT. The Air Force Installation Contracting Agency (AFICA) - 338 SCONS, JBSA Randolph, TX 78150-4302, announces the intent to award a firm-fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Microsoft Corporation under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1): Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. T he anticipated period of performance will be for approximately six (6) months. The anticipated award to Microsoft Corporation requires updates and security patches. Continued Microsoft support of Windows Server 2003 is required to ensure the operating system remains secure and serviceable. The contactor shall provide specific software and security patches which were previously acquired from Microsoft Corporation. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received may be considered for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. Responses submitted to this notice shall include the following: a. Description that the interested party can provide the software/security patches for support of Windows Server 2003 as requested. b. Description of what services the interested party would perform and what services need to be subcontracted. c. Business size of interested party. To be considered by the Government, interested parties must deliver their intent and capabilities to satisfy the Government's requirement to the Contracting Officer not later than 3:00 PM (Central Standard Time) on 03 Jan 17. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
