Description

Draft Statement of Need BEP-RFI-17-0352 detailed information The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is a component of the Department of the Treasury that designs, engraves, and prints U.S. banknote currency and other U.S. security products. Banknote currency manufacturing occurs at BEP's Washington, DC Currency Facility (DCF) located in Washington, DC and Western Currency Facility (WCF) located in Fort Worth, TX. BEP's primary customer is the Federal Reserve Board (FRB). BEP DCF's, Office of Engraving, Division of Plate Manufacturing has a need to purchase a New Vision Inspection System for use in the Inspection of surface pieces produced in their Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) operations. These surface pieces are used on the Currency Overprinting Processing Equipment (COPE) and Large Examining Printing Equipment (LEPE) machines, in the production of United States Currency. Please see attached documents for more information Note: The BEP will be closed for Year-end Shutdown from 24 December 2016 through 2 January 2017.
