- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Internet2 for the acquisition of Internet2 Consortium Affiliate Membership and Network Participation Membership to be used by the NIST Information Technology Laboratory (ITL). ***** Sole source determination is based on the need to access an experimental network for networking technologies. Internet2 is the only organization that offers a network meeting these requirements. In order to access this network, membership to the Internet2 Consortium is required. Internet2 is the only organization authorized to provide membership to the Internet2 Consortium. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 813920. ****** A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. Interested parties that believe they can satisfy the requirements listed above must identify their capability in writing before the response date of this notice. Only responses received by December 29, 2016, 12:00 p.m., EST will be considered by the government. Responses shall be submitted via email to amber.gray@nist.gov.
