Sources Sought Notice The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 6 Network Contracting Office (NCO), on behalf of Durham VA Medical Center, is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice for Service-disabled Veteran owned small business, Veteran owned small business and small business sources for Soft Suicide Prevention Shower Doors. This notice is seeking SSPD that prevents the use of interior doors or shower curtains to be used as anchor points. The magnetic hinges would allow the door to break away from the frame after 20lbs of pressure are applied. The SSPD provides the safest available solution while offering dignity and privacy to patients. Replacement Door Replacement Door for Existing Rooms 5 Salient Characters: All doors are to be soft, lightweight, and durable enough to be used and cleaned daily, shred-proof, non- flammable, easy to clean. Doors are to be ligature resistant with a magnetic hinge system encased in a rip stop material. SSPD s hinge system is designed to pull off the hinges immediately after 20lbs of vertical pressure. Soft Suicide Preventive door material is to be anti-microbial, with sealed seams to make them waterproof. Doors are to be pick proof, tamper resistant and meet California Fire code title 19 & NFPA-701. This product is designed to meet or exceed guidelines for mental health and patient safety standards.
