- On or about 31 December 2016, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Camp Ashland Fuse Plug Slab, Beacon View French Drain Improvements and Clear Creek Tree Removals, Saunders and Sarpy Counties, NE. The solicitation will close on or about 31 January 2017. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A site visit date and time will be issued with the advertisement package. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) Construction of a reinforced concrete slab in the Clear Creek levee fuse plug section on Camp Ashland installation near Ashland, NE. This will also include driving of metal sheet piling beneath the slab. Sand material needs to be removed (excavated) from the fuse plug notch area prior to 1 April 2017, and the material will be used as fill material in other areas of the fuse plug. The levee fuse plug segment also will require additional sand fill borrow and placement and installation of a geomembrane on the Platte River side of the levee fuse plug segment. An existing concrete drainage pipe needs backfilled with fill material. French drain improvements are also required across the Platte River in the Beacon View vicinity. Excavations, fill placement, tree removal, bollard installation, topsoil placement, grading, and seeding are required. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete.
