- This is a presolicitation notice for a construction project located on the Juneau Ranger District of the Tongass National Forest, Juneau AK approximately 7 miles northwest of the Juneau, AK airport. The project may be accessed from State Glacier Highway and Lena Loop Road, maintained by the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ). Major work items include: 1. Road constructino, reconstruction and associated work including asphalt surfacing of the same road and parking with striping; 2. Demolition of up to 5 picnic sheltrs and 3 picnic sites; 3. Construction of up to 5 picnic shelters including concrete work and associated amenities including aggregate surface trails and stone work; 4. Construction of up to 3 aggregate surface picnic pads and associated amenities including aggregate surface trails and stone work: 5. Demolition of up to 6 vault toilet buildings; 6. Installation of up to 3 vault toilet style prefabricated concrete buildings; 7. Working within prescribed fisheries window, demolition of Picnic Creek fish ladder and culvert, streambed enhancement and stabilization work; 8. Provide and install 45' long pre-stressed concrete slab bridge (allow time for Forest Service approval submittals, and delivery for installation within prescribed fish windows); 9. Miscellaneous work including demolition of a concrete staircase, sign installation, hazard tree removal, and revegetation work. The government anticipates release of the solicitation in the next 60 days with a period of performance estimated to start in April or May 2017. In-stream work in Picnic Creek will be permitted from June 1, 2017 - July 31, 2017. Estimated value for this project is $1,000,000 - $5,000,000
