- Description
- The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Vaccine Research Center (VRC) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Life Technologies Corporation, 3175 Staley Road, Grand Island, New York 14072 to procure ExpiFectamine 293 Transfection Kit, size 10L, Catalog #A14525, qty-20 each. This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR Part 13.106(b)(2) and 13.501(a)(1). Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm fixed price type of contract. Delivery to Bethesda, Maryland 20892 approximately 10 days from date of award. The VRC has been using the ExpiFectamine 293 Transfection Kits for more than three (3) years. The kits is unique in that it allows for high density growth and protein production with the accompanied use of other 293Expi components such as specific cell lines. This has proven to support the production of the proteins that is required for protocols in the development for vaccines for HIV and other viruses. The kits are needed for ongoing experiments where the continuity of the ExpiFectamine 293 Transfection Kits must be maintained to ensure experimental results are not influenced by other variables. Failure to obtain the kits would result in the inability to perform experiments. Line Item#/Description/Quantity: 1)Expifectamine Transfection kit 10L, Catalog# A14525 Qty of 20 All responsible sources who feel they can meet these requirements shall submit their capabilities that will be considered. The government reserves the right to make a decision whether this requirement is available for competition. Offers must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), December 27 2016. Delivery address through the U.S. Postal Service, NIH/NIAID/AMOB, 5601 Fishers Lane, RM 3a64 Rockville, MD 20852. Electronic and fax quotations are not accepted.
