- SAVE THE DATE FLYER – FDA Industry Day 01 Feb 2017 SAVE THE DATE - FDA Industry Day 01 Feb 2017. LOCATION: Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico Library, Third Floor Florak Park and Milla de OroActivity Halls, 366 Ponce de Leon Avenue, San Juan, PR 00918. The Government is planning an industry day to build awareness of an upcoming design build project. This is not a solicitation for proposals and no contract shall be awarded from this notice. The scope entails the design-build construction of a new facility with an increase in square footage over the existing facilities to allow for future growth. Currently, the FDA operates within 27,743 square feet (SF) of space including a laboratory, offices, and core space. The proposed facility will be a total of 31,912 BUSF to include, 11,357 BUSF of laboratory, 13,959 BUSF of office, 2,668 BUSF of headquarters, and 3,929 BUSF of core spaces. The FDA intends to maintain its occupancy and operation during the design and construction of the campus in the main office/laboratories. Construction will commence with demolition of building 10. A new mid-rise building will be constructed in the area of the demolished building. All occupants would relocate into the newly constructed building allowing all existing vacant buildings to either remain or be demolished at a later date. Decommissioning and demolition of remaining vacant buildings are not included in this scope of work. Project Location: The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) San Juan District Offices and San Juan Laboratory is located at 466 Fernandez Juncos Avenue, San Juan PR. This facility was constructed incrementally starting in 1949 on 4.6 acre of land. The site consists of 12 buildings that are beyond their usable life span and are in need of major repair or replacement. Magnitude of Construction: $25,000,000 to $50,000,000. NAICS Code: 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a small business size standard of $36.5mil. Small Businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, 8(a), WOSB, EDWOSB and Hubzone Small Businesses will have the opportunity to reach out to prospective prime contractor for teaming/subcontracting opportunities through a matchmaking event. Registration for this event is required and will open in January There is no charge to participate but seating is limited on a first come first serve basis.
