- Description
- The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Sensors Directorate has a planned new research program called Passive Radar Illumination Selection Manager (PRISM). The PRISM program will research, design, document, and test an Illumination Selection Manager (ISM) subsystem in furtherance of the Passive MultiMode (PMM) vision. PMM seeks a multi-mode passive radar system which adapts to local conditions. The ISM testing will demonstrate real-time functionality. A roadmap shall be developed outlining the approach to an ISM suitable for current and future platforms. The PRISM effort will have two objectives. The first objective will be to design and implement a real-time ISM algorithm. Inputs to the ISM will be emitter reports from a front-end Electronic Support subsystem. Outputs from the ISM will be commands to a back-end surveillance data collection subsystem. The second objective will be to develop a technology roadmap for an operational ISM capability. This is a pre-solicitation notice only. Anticipated issue date for the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) is TBD at this time. Details of the BAA will be included when the BAA is issued via FedBizOpps.
