- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue a sole source solicitation, number N00024-16-R-6250, for a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract modification to NAVSEA contract N00024-10-C-6260. This extention is to procure up to120 additional Acoustic Device Countermeasure (ADC) MK 3 MOD 1 new devices, rework 288 used devices and to add 3,000 Engineering Service hours to address obsolescence and other services such as component studies, reuse, and repairs. The ADC MK 3 and MK 4 devices are 16-cm in diameter, expendable countermeasures externally launched from the 6-inch Countermeasure Set, Acoustic (SCA) External Countermeasure Launcher (ECL) systems. The ADC MK 3 and MK 4 countermeasures provide submarines the capability to counter torpedo and sonar threats, respectively. The delivery date of the ADC MK 3 MOD 1 and ADC MK 4 MOD 1 devices is twelve (12) months after receipt of order. This requirement will be solicited sole source with Ultra Electronics Ocean System (UEOS), Braintree, Massachusetts which is the current producer of the MK 3 MOD 1 and MK 4 MOD 1 devices. Ultra Electronics is the only source with the requisite knowledge of the MK 3 MOD 1 and MK 4 MOD 1 system design, hardware, support equipment, technical experience, and resources necessary to meet the Government's schedule and cost constraints without significant risk to the Navy. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This notice is for informational purposes only.
