- Description
- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) intends to contract using other than full and open competition for the following: software and hardware corrective maintenance services for Chemical Analysis Devices (CAD), also known as First Defender RM. Accordingly, the TSA intends to award a contract to Thermo Fisher Scientific, 2 Radcliff Road, Tewksbury, MA 01876. This contract will address the requirements of the TSA Office of Security Capabilities. The award will be made for scheduled or unscheduled maintenance/support activities to repair, upgrade, update or otherwise restore failed Transportation Security Equipment (TSE) software to operational condition. This is essential in ensuring software stays current and failed TSE are restored quickly so the units can be used by the field. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
