- SOLICITATION W911S6-16-T-0016 COMBINED SYNOPSIS AND SOLICITATION THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS AND SOLICITATION FOR AN INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE TO LIFE TECHNOLOGIES. The U.S. Government currently intends to award a contract for PCR and other equipment Maintenance and Repair/Purchase of 3 Quant Studio 12K flex PCR systems with a Trade in of 2 Viia7 on an SOLE SOURCE basis, The sole source firmed fixed price (FFP) contract to Life Technologies (ThermoFisher) for The purpose of this requirement is: (1) PURCHASE 3 Quant Studio PCR's, TRADE-IN 2 Vii7 Thermal Cyclers, and PERFORM Annual Maintenance &Repair, & Recertification for 12 pieces of equipment at the West Desert Test Center (WDTC), Life Sciences Division (LSD). Three Quantity of the QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR Systems: Compatible with Life Technologies Maintenance, Repair, and Calibration of the PCR's and Cytometers: The data generated by Life Sciences Division (LSD) thermal cyclers has to be extremely precise and accurate. To ensure the reliability of the data being collected and used in evaluating system performance, it is critical that the instruments be systematically maintained by manufacturer qualified engineers. Life Technologies is the original manufacturer of the thermal cyclers employed by LSD and is the only firm that has the diagnostic equipment, OEM parts, and trained engineers to maintain and repair these sensitive instruments. The statutory authority for the sole source procurement is, 10 United States Code 2304(c)(1) as implemented in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements). This notice constitutes a Request for Quote (RFQ) notice to Life Technologies. This is the synopsized combined synopsis/solicitation for Governmentwide Point of Entry. The NAICS code(s) is 811219.
