- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS) intends to award a Purchase Order to Diagenode at 400 Morris Ave, Suite 101, Denville, NJ for the purchase of a Bioruptor Sonication System to be used in conjunction with other Bioruptor systems currently in use by the DIR Laboratories at NIEHS. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516 with a size standard of 1000 employees. THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD AS A SOLE SOURCE, NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. It has been determined that Diagenode is the only known responsible source capable of providing the required supplies and no other supplies will satisfy the agency's requirements. This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1), and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain an automated sonication system to perform high-quality ChIP-QPCR and ChIP-seq assays that is compatible with existing equipment within the DIR Laboratories. Currently, the existing sonication equipment is used with such frequency that another sonication system is needed to accommodate the laboratories workload. The system currently in use in the lab is the Bioruptor system from Diogenode. Based on the program office's survey of the sources in the market, the sonication system manufactured by Diogenode is the only equipment that is compatible with the current Bioruptor system that the lab uses. Using equipment from another company would not be compatible with the current sonication system. Additionally, purchasing another type of system with different technology for shearing chromatin would be problematic for data comparison/analysis and would cause undue loss of time, resources and burden to the government. Therefore, Diogenode is considered the only source capable of providing the needed equipment. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government shall consider all responses received by September 19, 2016, at 4pm EST. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. NIEHS will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice. If no affirmative responses are received by the date and time specified, an award will be made to Diagenode.
