The Falls Creek Bridge is a pre-1970 glued-laminated road bridge located in the Tongass National Forest near the town of Petersburg, Alaska. The 50', 2-lane bridge is located on Three Lakes Loop Road (National Forest Service Road 6235, milepost 4.235) on Mitkof Island. The work on this project includes the replacement of the old undersized bridge with a new bridge. The new bridge will maintain the existing 2-lane (24') width and HL-93 load capacity, but its length may be increased to span the channel to avoid constrictions. One options item consists of salvaging the existing glu-lam girders in their current condition and transporting them ot the Forest Products Laboratory in Madison, WI. Price Range: $250,000 - $500,000 Work is anticipated to be complete and ready for use no later than August 31, 2017.
