- Description
- The USDA, ARS, Western Regional Research Center, Albany, California has a requirement for a table-top ion milling system and cross-section milling unit. The table-top ion milling system must be a hybrid version with dedicated cross-section milling function and dedicated flat-milling function. The cross-section milling performance must provide fast milling rate up to 300 micrometers per hour and capable of allowing a sample size up to 20W x 12D x 7H millimeters for cross-section preparation; the stage sample mount should be compatible with an existing Hitachi S4700 scanning electron microscope as the sample preparation and handling are very critical to maintain reliability and true specimen representation in scanning electron microscopy. The milling system must have a flat mass flow Argon gas controller. Provide installation/set-up/commissioning, user manuals, warranties and shipping/freight fees. This solicitation incorporates the following commercial FAR clauses by reference 52.212-1, 52.212-2, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, and 52.212-5. The following applicable FAR clauses are incorporated by reference: 52.222-3, 52.222-19, 52.222-21, 52.222-26, 52.222-35, 52.222-36, 52.225-13, 52.232-33, 52.232-36 (FAR clauses may be obtained at www.acquisition.gov).
