- NOTICE: This is a pre-solicitation notice for an upcoming acquisition for commercial Home Medical Equipment (HME) services utilizing the procedures of FAR part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. This notice is synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203. This notice is NOT a Request for Proposals (RFP). Vendors should not submit proposals until the RFP is posted to this website. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for the information resulting from this posting. SERVICES: The Department of Veterans Affairs is responsible for furnishing eligible beneficiaries HME for use in their home or nursing home. The contractor shall furnish all equipment, labor, transportation and supplies required to provide delivery, pickup, setup removal, storage and repair services for government owned HME for VA Medical Center Beneficiaries within Veteran Integrated Services Network (VISN) 22's five (5) Medical Center service areas. An indefinite quantity of services will be furnished at such times and in such quantities as required, FOB destination. ACQUISITION: The VA intends to release this as a competitive RFP on or about February 22, 2016. A single VISN wide solicitation will be issued. Award will be by facility or group of facilities. The procurement will be a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The NAICS code for this requirement will be 621610 with a size standard of $14 million. Any resultant contract will be effective for a Base Period of performance of one year, with four one-year Options to extend the contract at the Government's discretion. Unless additional notice is given or this notice is modified, the full RFP will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov). All future information regarding this acquisition including amendments will be distributed through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
