- THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract to Giesecke & Devrient America, Inc. (G&D). The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has a requirement to upgrade both the software and hardware of each Single Note Inspection (SNI) systems at each of the BEP facilities: Washington, D.C. and Fort Worth, TX. The contractor shall provide production equipment (hardware/software), material, labor, training materials and warranty needed to upgrade the BEP Single Note Inspection (SNI) systems at each facility with Optical Banknote Inspection System (OBIS 3) software from version V3.19c to Version V3.20 or latest available version and provide and integrate an OBIS 3 Recording PC on all four existing BEP SNI systems. This upgrade will expand the capabilities of the system to capture more data and store more defective note images for later review and analysis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit documentation that clearly demonstrates their capability. Responses to this notice shall be received NO LATER THAN 08 August 2016 at 9:00am EST. All responses must be in writing, only, via email to the point of contacts specified in this notice. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
