- Description
- The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests are seeking applications for one or more special use permits for the operation and maintenance of campgrounds, a marina, and day use areas on and near Lake Moomaw. These recreation areas are located in Alleghany and Bath Counties in Virginia. A prospectus solicits applications for two opportunities: (1) Concession operation of campgrounds and day use areas, and (2) Concession operation of a marina and day use areas (and an option to include a boat-in/walk-in only campground). Applicants have the option to submit a proposal on one or both of the opportunities offered. An optional tour of the facilities will be provided for interested applicants on August 19, 2016. Details about the place and time to meet for the tour will be provided here soon. Applications are due on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. (eastern standard time) at the U.S. Forest Service, Warm Springs Ranger District, Attention Emily Ellis, 422 Forestry Drive, Hot Springs, VA 24445-2677.
