- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office has a future requirement Perform raising of levees on Placement Area 1 in Freeport to add capacity for future endeavours. Work will include a 4 foot levee raise (100,000 CY) with a new 5 bay drop- outlet structure. There will be additional options for training levees, ditching -Perimeter/lateral and use of fly-ash. Completion time for Schedule No. 1 is 120 calendar days. And additional 20 calendar days will be added for Option No.1; 60 calendar days for Option No.2 and no additional time for Option No.3, if the options are exercised. The order of magnitude for this effort is estimated between $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00. The estimated award date for this project is 24 August 2016. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (3) calendar days after award. The contractor shall begin work within (10) calendar days after acknowledgement of the Notice to Proceed. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $1,131.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The Government contemplates awarding a Firm-Fixed Price contract. This will be a Total Small Business Set-Aside procurement. This synopsis is not an obligation of the Government and all information sent in is voluntary. The Solicitation will be issued on or about 7 July 2016.
