- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single, firm-fixed construction contract for project 573-15-600, 'REPLACE DAMAGED ROOF AT CAMPUS AND TUCKPOINT'. Project location is the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, Gainesville, FL. In accordance with VAAR 836.204 (Disclosure of Construction Projects), the construction magnitude is $2 MIL to $5 MIL. Project is set aside for certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). All respondents are to be certified and verifiable SDVOSB firms at the time of proposal submission. The applicable NAICS is 238160 (Roofing Contractors). Per VAAR 852.219-11(c)(4), as a specialty trade project, at least 25 percent of the personnel cost must be spent on the SDVOSB firm's employees or employees of other eligible SDVOSB concerns. The project involves replacement of all damaged or worn roofing systems throughout the campus, to include tuck-pointing and lighting replacement. Affected campus buildings include #1, #8, #11, #12, #14, and #28. The existing roofs vary and include both Modified Bitumen roofing and original cold tar pitch. The gravel finish roofing needs replacement with a new modified system, along with the replacement of roof drains, vents, and flashing. Proposals are not requested at this time. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be uploaded on this FBO site on/about July 29, 2016. Further details regarding this project, to include the preproposal site visit and proposal due date will be included in the solicitation.
