Description
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with General Dynamics Mission Systems of Dedham, MA for award ofSECTERA vIPer, a Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCI) secure telephones. The SECTERA vIPer telephone units will replace the current STE/physical security token based secure telephone, e.g. STE. The SECTERA vIPer phone doesn't require a cryptograhpic security token and is operationally compatible with the Secure Telephone Terminal (STE) equipment. The Sectéra vIPer Phone has been certified/endorsed by the National Security Agency (NSA) as the only available Type 1 secure-encryption telephone to protect classified communications via voice over internet protocol (VoIP) networks at the Top Secret level and below. While the Sectéra vIPer Phone is a proprietary design, the embedded security complies with Secure Communications Interoperability Protocol (SCIP) Security, Performance, and Interoperability Standards, allowing it to communicate with other Type 1 SCIP products. SCIP and crypto modernization compliant, the vIPer telephone is the only VoIP phone certified to protect information classified Top Secret/SCI and below including Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU). The vIPer telephone supports multiple key-sets for U.S. sponsored interoperability (e.g., NATO and Coalition). General Dynamics Mission Systems is the sole developer, manufacturer, and supplier of the U.S. Government Type 1 Sectéra vIPer Phone encryptor. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.
