- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a contract to dewatering of Spilman Island Placement Area, an upland site. Schedule No. 1 work consists of approx. 80,000 LF of perimeter and lateral ditching in wet site conditions. The Option consists of approx. 8,000 LF of perimeter and lateral ditching. Dredged material placement area site conditions are extremely wet with soft material. Contractor will need to utilize low ground pressure equipment (such as marsh buggy) in order to work on the soft material within the site. Work includes excavation to construction perimeter and lateral drainage ditches within the placement area to drain standing and subsurface water. Periodic re-excavation may be required during excavation process due to sloughing of material. Dredged material was last place into the site in November 2015. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $1,330.00 for each calendar day of delay. Completion time for Schedule No. 1 is 190 calendar days and an additional 30 calendar days for Option No. 1 if executed. The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The Solicitation is "100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE". The Solicitation will be issued on or about 18 July 2016. Response date is 17 August 2016 @ 2:00 PM. ATTENTION TO OFFEROR(s)/CONTRACTOR(s): On July 14, 2014, Small Business Administration (SBA) increased the monetary-based industry size standards to account for inflation. You must update your Representations (Reps) and Certifications (Certs) for the impacted North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes identified with an exclamation point "!" next to the "Small Business" value in the System for Award Management (SAM). Please log into SAM, review, and resubmit your registration to apply the new size standard. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990. The Small Business Size Standard is $27.5 Million.
