Description

This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE for Market Research purposes only. The Government is trying to determine the availability of certain Brand Name Components for upcoming acquisitions. No awards will be made from this Sources Sought Notice. No solicitation will be available at this time. However, responses to this Sources Sought Notice may be used to determine appropriate acquisition strategies for future acquisitions. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Eastern Regional Office, Silver Spring, MD intends to solicit and award construction projects for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The construction project will be solicited competitively under a future solicitation. The project may include Brand Name only components, as described below, unless the results of this sources sought notification indicates otherwise. This notification serves three purposes: (1) to notify potential offerors of the Government's intent to solicit a brand name only component. (2) to identify potential sources that can provide the brand name only item and/or equivalent; (3) notification of CFM's intent to contract sole source for a Brand Name Only, if the market is unable to provide 'equivalent' products. The following items may be included as sole sources, if no sources are able to provide an equivalent system. In the event no equivalent equipment exists, the Brand Name Only justification will be issued pursuant to FAR Part 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source." A subsequent market survey will not be published in support of a Justification and Approval (J&A) for sole sourcing the resultant product(s) or system(s) in the event an equivalent product is not submitted for consideration. In such instances, the brand name or equal component will be embedded in the construction project that will be issued competitively. Only that part of the project requiring brand name components will be sole source, if no sources are able to prove an equal product. The construction projects themselves will be competitively solicited. 1.Signage - Signage shall be Fusion 20 (Camber) as Manufactured by "Takeform" 2.Automatic Dispensing Paper Towel Dispenser -manufactured by Georgia-Pacific 3.Automatic Temperature Control - Andover Controls 4.Security Emergency Call, Duress Alarm -by manufactured by Johnson Control. 5.Access Control -manufactured by LENEL Systems. 6.Video Surveillance System - manufactured by LENEL Systems. 7.Lighting Control System - by Encelium. 8.Fire Alarm Monitoring System - manufactured by SigCom 9.Fire Hydrant - manufactured by Kennedy Valve 10.Nurse Call System - TBD SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS: 1.Signage - Signage shall be Fusion 20 (Camber) as Manufactured by "takeform" Architectural Graphics, One Mahar Way, Madina, New York 14103, 1.800.528.1398, www.takeform.net "NO SUBSTITUTION". 2.Automatic Dispensing Paper Towel Dispenser - The dispenser is surface mounted, EnMotion Touchless, water-resistant, manufactured by Georgia-Pacific 3.Automatic Temperature Control - Andover Automatic Temperature Controls System 4.Security Emergency Call, Duress Alarm - includes speakers, intercom stations, software by Existing Systems Manufacturer. 5.Access Control - Access control is required for the card reader controllers, security panels & reader interface gateway, manufactured by LENEL Systems. 6.Video Surveillance System - IP Security Cameras and software By LENEL Systems. 7.Lighting Control System - Encelium lighting control system. 8.Fire Alarm Monitoring System - Radio communication system for campus wide Fire Alarm Monitoring System, manufactured by SigCom/Sieman. 9.Fire Hydrant - Model K-81D, manufactured by Kennedy valve 10.Nurse Call System - TBD Submissions in responses to this sources sought notice must be submitted in writing via email to Nancy Kebe @ nancy.kebe@va.gov no later than 4 P.M. EST on 22 July 2016. This is a market survey and notification of intent only. This is not a request to respond to a solicitation. This project will be solicited at a future date.
