- The Work consists of the following: 1. There are two main components of this project: 1. Repairs to the East Beach Parking and Restroom Area and 2. Demolition, removal and replacement of the Promenade trail material. a) Work at the East Beach Parking Area includes, but is not limited to: Resealing and restriping of the existing vehicular paved area, minor repairs to the asphalt paving and installation of storm drainage improvements, fencing, wheel stops and new site furnishings. Work at the Restroom Area includes the installation of concrete pedestrian pathways and picnic areas, provisioning and installation of new signage and site furnishings. b) Re-surfacing of the Promenade Trail includes, but is not limited to: Demolition and removal of existing decomposed granite and installation of a proprietary trail paving product called Park Tread (http://www.parktread.com/) The Park Tread will be applied with a stabilizing product called Permazyme. Note that Park Tread must be installed by a contractor certified by the Park Tread Company. Other work includes the installation of concrete hardscape and vertical extension of a concrete seawall at the Warming Hut area, improvements to the existing drainage system, riprap enhancements along the shoreline. There will also be repairs to and replacement of site furniture. c) All aspects of this project shall be appropriately staged and phased to allow for maximum public access during the construction process. Project documents include suggested Staging, Phasing and Detour plans for the contractor ¿s use to develop these plans for NPS review and approval. 2. A Construction Schedule laying out project start and completion dates along with scope tasks shall be submitted as required per the Request for Proposal package Specifications.
