Contracting Office Address NASA/John F. Kennedy Space Center, Procurement, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 Description NASA/John F. Kennedy Space Center plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for NNK16594696R Banana River Channel Maintenance Dredging, John F. Kennedy Space Center, Florida. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE NECESSARY RESOURCES TO: The primary task of the construction / dredging firm will be maintenance dredging of the Banana River channel. A list of tasks associated with the proposed work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Perform maintenance dredging to remove approximately 200,000 cubic yards of material from a 2 mile-long, 125 feet wide section of the Banana River channel to restore the depth of the channel to -13.0 feet Mean Water Level (MWL). The permitted depth is -12.0 feet MWL, plus one foot allowable overdepth to -13.0 feet MWL. The current average depth of the section of channel to be dredged is -10.0 feet MWL. For hydraulic dredging, the distance to the existing spoil site will be 4 miles away at the farthest point, and 2 miles away at the closest point to the section of channel to be dredged. Monitoring of the spoil site during and post dredging operations (while the water is drained from the spoil) will be required. A bathymetric survey of the 2-mile section of the channel to be dredged will be provided during solicitation of this work. A potential additive item is the repair of 9 day markers (repair or replacement of leaning poles and missing or damaged signs). The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990 with a small business size standard of $27.5M. The effort may include the following: Base Bid - Mobilization & Demobilization Base Bid - Cut 13 widener Base Bid - Cut 13 Base Bid - Shoal Mound Base Bid - Turbidity Monitoring Base Bid - Endangered Species Monitoring Additive 1 - Repair of 9 Navigational Aids The Performance Period shall be completed in 240 calendar days after notice to proceed. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 36.204, Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects, the estimated price range is as follows: The total estimated cost of this project is in the estimated construction contract price range of between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The acquisition shall be conducted as a 100% small business set-aside. The anticipated release date of the RFP will be late July or early August, with an anticipated offer closing date of late August or early September. The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals shall be stated in the RFP. A site visit may be scheduled on or about early August. Prime contractors will be limited on the number of personnel in attendance. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement shall be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
