- Walter Reed National Military Medical Center has a requirement to procure ongoing hardware maintenance on the CL-lX TRILOGY Accelerator and support of the associated ARIA and Eclipse software. The Government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Varian Medical Systems because preliminary market research indicates that only Varian, which is regulated by FDA guidelines, can provide the proprietary software and firmware, replacement parts, trouble shooting equipment/capabilities and factory trained certified technicians to provide the required hardware and software maintenance on the system, which is used to treat oncology patients. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations and a solicitation for this requirement will not be issued. Prospective offerors are advised that, because there are no other known sources, the agency has authorized the procurement of these services under other than full and open competition under FAR 6.3. However, interested responsible sources may submit a capability statement for the agency's consideration in determining whether a competitive procurement should be conducted in the future for these services. A copy of the Justification and Approval will be posted no later than 14 days after contract award.
