Description

Special Notice Intent to Sole Source The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Portland Health Care, in Portland, OR intends to award a sole source commercial purchase order to Spectranetics, 96 Talamine Court, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Spectranetics is a small business vendor, registered with the SBA. This proposed action is to purchase one (1) CVX-300 GEN 4.0 Excimer Laser with 12 month warranty for the Cardiology Department at the Portland VA Medical Center. The VA intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.303-2 and FAR 13.501. This is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements and is a small business vendor may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Only authorized representatives of the manufacturer will be considered. Equipment must be new, no used or refurbished equipment accepted. Responses are due by 07/19/2016 4:00 pm EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In accordance with FAR Parts 12 & 13, this notice document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-88, 15 Jun 2016. The North America Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 339112. Business Size Standard is 1000 Employees.
