- Description
- The Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Science (SC), Office of Nuclear Physics (NP) intends to award a 18-month contract to the National Academy of Sciences to commission a study of the United States domestic ability to test the effects of space radiation on electronics on a sole source bases under the statutory authority permitting Other than Full and Open Competition at 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only one Responsible Source and No other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interests of the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest supported by a statement demonstrating their capability to perform this requirement no later than 4:00 PM CST, July 18, 2016. All information submitted shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. The NAICS Code is 927110-Space Research and Technology. Responses must be in writing and must provide clear and concise documentation indicating an a bona fide capability to provide these services.
