- VHS Robot Upgrade Solicitation BACKGROUND The Library of Congress owns and operates four (4) SAMMA robotic digitization platforms at the NAVCC in Culpeper, Virginia. One robotic system is dedicated to the digitization of VHS media using JVC BRS-DX822U VTRs. This robotic system (VHS Robot) requires a reconfiguration to use a different VTR due to the low availability of the JVC BRS-DX822U and the complexity of repairs on that machine. The VHS Robot will continue to be used for VHS digitization. The current VHS platform has a low availability for replacement playback decks and a high rate of failure. Reconfiguring the VHS Robot to a more reliable playback platform will allow for higher throughput and serviceability. SCOPE The contractor shall convert the VHS Robot VTR for playback, that includes the following: -Inspection of current VHS Robot configuration -Acquisition of all parts and software required to reconfigure the VHS Robot -Installation of all acquired components into existing VHS Robot -Configuration, testing, and commissioning of new VHS Robot configuration
