- Description of Work: The project consists of removing multiple 18 inch and one 24 inch culvert and replacing them with corrugated steel pipe culverts and pipe arches at multiple locations on NFSR 221 and NFSR 263 to accommodate post fire flow. The pipe arches will be government furnished. NFSR 221: The intent of the contract is to remove and replace three existing corrugated steel pipe culverts on NFSR 221 at mile posts 54.73, 55.03, and 65.16. NFSR 263: The intent of the contract is to remove and replace seven existing corrugated steel pipe culverts on NFSR 263 at mile posts 2.37, 2.41, 3.167, 3.60, 4.90, 6.78, and 7.29. This project includes removing and disposing an existing culvert, structure excavation, roadway embankment, backfilling, compacting, furnishing and installing a new corrugated steel pipe, riprap, and hauling and placing crushed aggregate surfacing. The precise details of performing the work are not stipulated except as considered essential for the successful completion of the work. Furnish all labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work according to the contract. Project Location: This project is located in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests approximately 45 miles south on Hwy 95, 11 miles East on Big Salmon Rd on NFSR 221. On NFSR 221 work will start at approximately MP 54 and ending at MP 66, and NFSR 263 starting at Mile Post 0 and ending at mile post 8 in the Salmon River Ranger District. T24 N and T25N; R. 2 E; Idaho County, Idaho. Price Range: The Government's estimate for the project is between than $250,000 and 500,000. Pre-Bid Tour: None planned Period of Performance and Road Closure Restrictions: Work on the project site shall commence approximately September 1, 2016, and proceed in accordance with the contractor's approved work schedule and run continuously till the end of the project no later than October 15, 2016. Closure of FS Road 263 will be allowed between 9/1/2016 and 9/21/2016 to facilitate culvert replacement activities. Closure of FS Road 221 in the vicinity of MP 65.16 will be allowed between 9/26/16 and 10/5/16. Closure of FS Road 221 in the vicinity of Mile Posts 54.73 and 55.03 will be allowed for two weeks between 9/1/16 and 10/5/16. Contractor shall give 10 days notice prior to closing this section of road.
