Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for (Quantity of 1) - Custom Laser Transmitter and Electronics Unit NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Litespar, Inc. This is a custom Laser Transmitter and electronics unit for use in aircraft instrumentation. Minimum Requirements include: -Lasing Material: Nd: YV04 -Simultaneous Operation at 1064 and 355 nm -Minimum 100 microJoules per pule at 1064 nm at 10 kHz -Minimum 50 microJoules per pulse at 355 nm at 10 kHz -Output pulse width 5-10 ns -Output beam polarization greater than 200:1 -Temperature range (survival) -50C to +60C -Temperature range (operating) -10C to +50C -Operation in High-Altitude (>60,000 ft) environment -Laser head physically identical to existing Laser Head with same electrical interfaces -Laser head Physical dimensions not to exceed 21 x 4 x 3 cm -Laser electronics unit physically and functionally identical to existing unit -Laser electronics unit physical dimensions not to exceed 40 x 30 x 19 cm -Electrically and optically compatible with existing laser head units -Electronics unit functionally identical to existing units -Total weight < 50 lbs Deliverables or Delivery Schedule Custom Laser Transmitter and Electronics Unit from Litespar, Inc. Original Lasers in the airborne CPL instruments (two of them) were originally developed by Litespar. Litespar is the only company capable of producing a duplicate laser system that is 100% compatible with the existing unit and instrument interfaces. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing mail to: Monique.m.murrell@nasa.gov no later than 11:59 p.m. (EST) time on June 16, 2016. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
