- This is not a request for a proposal. This announcement is considered market research in accordance with FAR Part 10. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to identify qualified vendors capable of providing the required part. The proposed procurement will contain an option to extend the contract period one or more times at the discretion of the government. The Contract Specialist is seeking sources for NSN 6140015819643, Battery, Storage where the only approved manufacturing source is Getac, Inc. part number V-MAINBAT2. This part has been determined to be commercial. This solicitation will be for a Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) with a three year base and two "one-year" option periods. Prices will be fixed and adjusted annually by a fixed percentage. This IQC solicitation will provide parts for military customers both in the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS). The support of this item will be through DLA Direct requirements. All DLA inventory points will be authorized to use the resulting contract. The acquisition is for supplies for which the data needed to purchase this part from additional sources are not owned by the Government therefore, it is a requirement that the item be acquired directly from the actual manufacturer, whether or not the prime contractor is the actual manufacturer. While price may be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final award decision will be based upon a combination of price, delivery, past performance and other evaluation factors that will be described in the solicitation. This acquisition will be issued as unrestricted, using other than full and open competition with a limited number of sources, citing authority 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The NSN will be evaluated on an "All or None" basis. Interested persons may identify to the contract specialist their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement.
