- Description
- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory (NHEERL), Atlantic Ecology Division (AED) located in Narragansett, Rhode Island has a requirement to provide laboratory glassware preparation services. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide all management, supervision and personnel to maintain and operate the Glassware Preparation Facility (room 171) of AED and all equipment by providing scientific support services. This includes cleaning of glassware, plastic ware, and other laboratory related cleaning for Federal scientific personnel. In addition, required services include washing, acid stripping, and sterilization of laboratory glassware and sea water for algal culture. High quality glassware cleaning relates directly to the quality of science and the Agency mission. The space, known as the Glassware Preparation Facility, shall be assigned to the Contractor and is a single, T-shaped room of approximately 749 square feet. The room includes space for the storage of bulk supplies and the equipment which shall be used in the performance of the work as well as a small office type space for associated record keeping. EPA anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price contract with a twelve (12) month base period of performance, and four (4) additional twelve (12) month option periods. The total duration of the proposed contract is sixty (60) months. The NAICS code for this procurement is: 561990 - All Other Support Services. The size standard is $11.0 million. The EPA anticipates releasing the Request for Proposals (RFP) on or before July 1, 2016 on Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) and FedConnect. Proposals will be due thirty (30) calendar days after the RFP issue date. A site visit at the AED Glassware Preparation Facility is tentatively scheduled for July 12, 2016. This is a 100% small business set-aside. This is not a request for proposals. This notice is for information purposes only.
