Description
Work of the Project includes renovation of water and electrical utilities and the possibility of constructing toilet/shower buildings and leachfields at Dolly Copp Campground, White Mountain National Forest. Without limiting the full scope of work required for the project, the following listing is provided to identify the major work items involved: 1. Water: a. Installation of sand separators in both primary wells. b. Installation of new water supply piping from primary wells to storage tank as indicated on drawings including pipe, fittings, valves, meters, testing and disinfecting. Existing water supply system to be abandoned. c. Modifications to existing water storage tank including new water supply connection, new water distribution system connection, new access hatch, internal piping modifications, internal surface coating, testing and disinfecting. d. Installation of new water distribution system from storage tank to site as indicated on drawings including pipe, tubing, fittings, valves, curb stops, faucets, RV hook-ups, services to existing buildings, stubs to future buildings, testing and disinfecting. Existing water distribution system to be abandoned where replaced with new. 2. Electrical: a. Provision of new underground primary power conduits with pull cords, bases for primary power sector cabinets, concrete bases for utility pad mounted transformers, any required primary power in ground pull boxes, bollards at primary power sector cabinet locations and at pad transformer locations, and primary power conduits through horizontal bore, all per the serving utility's standards. b. Provision of new underground telephone conduits with pull cords, any bases required for telephone pedestals, any required in ground pull boxes, and telephone conduits through horizontal bore, all per the serving utility's standards. c. Provision of new underground telephone service conduits with pull cords from new pedestals to within 5 feet of buildings indicated to receive future services and with risers capped at buildings specifically noted in the Scope of Work. d. Provision of new electrical distribution structures complete with meter bases/sockets and blank covers, to utility standards where noted in the Scope of Work and as detailed on Contract Drawings. e. Provision of new underground conduits with NO wiring between new pad transformers and new electrical distribution structures, and/or to within 5 feet of indicated existing and/or new buildings, and any other structure indicated on Contract Drawings. f. Provision of new underground conduits with pull cords from within 5 feet of electrical distribution structures and to within 5 feet of future and existing toilet buildings. g. Provision of all conduits to distribute power from within 5 feet of the electrical distribution structures and to within 5 feet of the recreational vehicle sites future RV power distribution "hitching post", and between RV power "hitching posts" noted on the Contract Drawings. h. Protection of existing control conduit and wiring between existing Well House at Well #2 and existing reservoir and Well #2 building while new water line is installed. It is intended that the existing conduit and wire shall remain in service for control of the wells when this project is completed. i. Coordination with the serving utility companies (power and telephone) and other Contractors involved with other aspects of the overall project. j. The Contractor shall plan and execute his work in a manner that does NOT remove and/or damage any existing overhead and/or underground telephone and/or power infrastructure. All existing lines shall be repaired or replaced by the Contractor at no added cost to the Owner or other parties if they are damaged during construction. Any damage to lines owned and maintained by the serving utilities will be repaired by the utilities if damaged, with the costs paid by the Contractor at his expense. Utilize Dig Safe procedures prior to any excavation as existing lines indicated on Contract Drawings are known to be of questionable accuracy and may not indicate all installations presently in operation and to be maintained. k. Field coordinate final positions of all transformer bases, sector cabinet bases, telephone pedestals, bollards, and similar items with the Utilities and Contracting Officer. l. Field coordinate final positions of future RV power distribution "hitching posts" and electrical distribution structures with the Contracting Officer before starting installations of associated equipment and conduits. m. Obtain all permits and approvals required, including final inspections and/or progress inspections by any representatives of the serving utilities and any local, state, or federal agency involved with the project so as to leave the facility installations completed and operational in accordance with the intent of the Contract Documents. 3. Sewer: a. Removal of existing toilet/shower buildings and restore site. b. Construct new toilet/shower buildings per design plans. c. Construct new leachfields per design plans and NHDES Subsurface requirements and approvals. SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED ON OR ABOUT 03/20/2016
