- This Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Notice is to announce the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for a Blanket Purchase Agreement for the Minnesota Water Science Center (MN WSC), 2280 Woodale Drive, Mounds View MN 55112 requires the following services: 1) preparation and analysis of water samples using inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry, 2) preparation of cross sections of fish bony structures for analysis using laser ablation inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry, 3) analyses of cross sections of fish bony parts using laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, 4) assistance with statistical analysis, interpretation of results, and 5) assistance with writing of peer-reviewed publications for studies being conducted by the USGS MN WSC. Acceptable performance standards for these tasks are provided in Phelps, Q.E., Whitledge, G.W., Tripp, S.J., Smith, K.T., Garvey, J.E., Herzog, D.P., Ostendorf, D.E., Ridings, J.W., Crites, J.W., Hrabik, R.A., Doyle, W.J., and Hill, T.D., 2012, Identifying river of origin for age-0 Schaphirhynchus sturgeons in the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers using fin ray microchemistry: Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences 69(5): 930-941; and, Schiller, A.M., 2003, Syringe filtration methods for examining dissolved and colloidal trace element distributions in remote field locations, Environmental Science and Technology 37(17): 3953-3957. An Estimated 100 water samples and an Estimated 150 fish bony parts per year may be analyzed under this agreement. Shall meet or exceed the Work Statement. The associated NAICS code is 541380 Testing Laboratories with a Small Business Size Standard of $15.0M.
