- ILLUMINA EQUIPMENT The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Laboratory Sciences intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to Illumina, 5200 Illumina Way, San Diego CA 92122-4616. The purpose of the acquisition is to acquire a service agreement for preventive maintenance, remedial maintenance and emergency on-site support of manufactured Illumina instruments that are no longer covered under warranty. Field service engineers and scientific staff who are factory trained and technically certified for Illumina next generation sequencing instruments are essential in maintaining the equipment. The purpose of the acquisition is to acquire a service agreement for preventive maintenance, remedial maintenance and emergency on-site support of manufactured Illumina instruments that are no longer covered under warranty. Field service engineers and scientific staff who are factory trained and technically certified for Illumina next generation sequencing instruments are essential in maintaining the equipment. Personnel have prior knowledge, certifications and experience in troubleshooting, repair and performing preventive maintenance practices along withhaving access and the ability to deliver and install software updates and factory warrantied repair parts. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 13 106-1(b) (1) - only one source reasonably available. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. We will only issue a solicitation to Illumina Incorporated. CDC believes that Illumina is the only source available to provide this service that meets critical mission requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations/responses. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responses should be emailed to Mr. Philip Robinson at KKQ4@CDC.GOV using solicitation number 2016-Q-????? in the subject line no later than 4PM Eastern Standard Time, February 17, 2016.
