- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Varian Medical Systems to provide complete preventive maintenance and repair services for the Varian Linear Accelerators at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham North Carolina. Varian Medical Systems is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of this equipment and has proprietary information. Contractor shall provide a complete preventative maintenance and repair service for the radiation therapy equipment listed below: "Clinac LE Serial Number: H181069 "MLC 80/120 Serial Number: H544181 "Treat Serial Number: H513273 "PV 1000 Serial Number: H811262 "RPM Serial Number: H505920 Contractor shall perform all mandatory upgrade coverage, firmware and console software upgrades, comprehensive parts coverage, on-site field service support for covered equipment Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and extended hours (5:00 p.m. to 9: p.m.) EST., on-site emergency field services support. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) soliciting from a single source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However any business that believes it can meet these requirements and possesses relevant past experience and expertise may give written notice. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Responses will be considered by the Government; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No telephone requests will be accepted. NAICS 811219, Size Standard: 500. Responses received by 1:00 pm EST on 02/01/2016 will be considered by the Government.
