- Representations and Certifications Commercial Terms and Conditions Request for Proposal Ames Laboratory, under a prime contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is requesting a quote for a compact bench top ball mill. With this Request for Proposal (RFP), you are invited to furnish a fixed-price proposal. Benchtop ball mill must: •Be a shaker or mixer type mill, and must qualify as a high energy ball mill. •The mill should be portable with the net weight not exceeding 50-60 lbs and all dimensions less than 50cm. •The mill should run on standard electric supply of 100-240 V, 50-60 Hz. •Proposal should include a 500 mL steel screw top jar, a 10mm stainless steel grinding ball, and a gasket for the grinding jar. Proposal should include any other accessories/equipment required to successfully operate the machine. Preferred specifications: •The mill should allow both dry and wet grinding with an option for cryogenic milling. •The sample/grinding jar size should range between 10-100 ml. •Milling motion of the grinding jar should be predominantly in a plane with minimal side to side motion. •The Laboratory will consider demonstration models/slightly used equipment as long as the full manufacturer's warranty is offered with the purchase.
