- THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract to Mühlbauer, Inc. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has a requirement to provide production equipment (hardware/software), material, labor, training materials and warranty needed to upgrade the BEP Currency Inspection System (CIS), a Mühlbauer -TEMA inspection system. The upgrades will include a Windows 7 operating platform complete with Infra-Red (IR) and Ultra Violet (UV) inspection capabilities for systems located in both BEP facilities, Washington, D.C. and Ft. Worth, TX. An upgraded Windows 7 operating system, with the further addition of infra-red (IR) and ultra violet (UV) inspection capability, will provide a fully supported operating system with updated IT security features, and will aid in fully identifying quality and non-quality imaged sheets. These upgrades will supplement the capabilities of the Mühlbauer currency inspection system to ensure that only high quality products are supplied to BEP's customers. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit documentation that clearly demonstrates their capability. Responses to this notice shall be received by 11 February 2016 at 9:00am EST. All responses must be in writing only via email to the point of contacts specified in this notice. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
