- DESCRIPTION: U. S. Coast Guard Shore Infrastructure Logistics Command (SILC) - Construction Industry Day WHEN: Wednesday, April 5, 2016 8:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (registration begins at 7:30 a.m.) WHERE: Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel & Convention Center 235 E. Main St. Norfolk, VA 23510 WHAT: The SILC is hosting a free, government sponsored, Industry Day to exchange information on our requirements and major contracts with industry. This forum will focus on construction projects (including related design, environmental, planning, and energy issues). The Industry Day will include briefings by the SILC Commanding Officer, the USCG Head of Contracting Activity (HCA), Coast Guard Small Business Representative, USCG Facility Design and Construction Center (FDCC) Commanding Officer, SILC Environmental Management Division (EMD), SILC Engineering Services Division (ESD), FDCC Senior Engineers, and the SILC Chief of Contracting Office. Briefings will include an overview of the CG Civil Engineer Program, Small Business updates, information on our Environmental and Energy Programs, information on our Design Build successes and philosophies, and more. There will also be briefings on our primary DHS Strategic Contracts for D-B Construction, A/E Design Services, and our Regional MACCs for repair and minor construction. At the end of the presentations, there will be time for a question and answer session and opportunities to meet with technical experts, contract specialists, and key players from SILC and FDCC Senior Leadership. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? • Federal Contractors who provide construction, construction services, architectural/engineering services, engineering services, energy services, and environmental engineering services. • Representatives from Small Disadvantaged Businesses, 8(a), HUB-Zone, Service Disabled Veteran Businesses, and Women-Owned Small Businesses. SPECIAL NOTE: This free government sponsored event is separate and distinct from the SAME Mid-Atlantic SB Conference that will be held at the same location starting after lunch and continuing through 4/7; however, the SAME trade show area will be open from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. SAME has invited our guests to visit the trade show during our break and immediately after our presentation.
